Our Story:
Angel Heart Pajama Project began with a simple yet profound idea: every child deserves to feel safe, warm, and loved, especially at bedtime. Founded by a group of compassionate individuals who saw the need for basic comforts among children facing adversity, our organization quickly grew from a grassroots initiative into a beacon of hope for many families. Guided by our belief in the power of kindness and generosity, we are committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of children across our community. For many of these children, pajamas and books are more than just items; they symbolize security, dignity, and comfort in times of uncertainty.
Our Mission:
At Angel Heart Pajama Project, our mission is to provide comfort, warmth, and hope to children in need by supplying them with new pajamas and new books, thereby addressing both their personal and emotional needs.
Since 2013, Angel Heart has become the leading resource in Southern Arizona for enhancing sleep quality and fostering a love of reading. We have provided pajamas and books to over 67,000 children.

Angel Heart aims to improve children’s quality of life, strengthen community partnerships, boost children’s self-esteem, raise awareness of children’s challenges, demonstrate care and compassion, and create a sense of security and normalcy for children.

Executive Director Search
The Board of Directors announces that Patti Lopez, Executive Director of Angel Heart Pajama Project, will be retiring and transitioning from her leadership role.
The Board extends its deepest gratitude for her leadership, dedication, and service to the organization. Throughout her eight-year tenure, Patti remained steadfast in her commitment to Angel Heart’s mission of providing comfort, dignity, and care to children in crisis. She played a
vital role in strengthening our programs, partnerships, and community presence. We sincerely appreciate the time, energy, and heart she devoted to this work. She will be missed! As our organization continues to grow and serve more children in crisis across Southern

Angel Heart Pajama Project is seeking a passionate, experienced, and mission-driven leader to serve as our next full time Executive Director. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a trusted Southern Arizona nonprofit dedicated to providing new pajamas and books to children in crisis,
helping restore comfort, dignity, and hope.
About Angel Heart Pajama Project
The mission is to provide new pajamas and age-appropriate books to children in need ages infant to 18, including children experiencing poverty, homelessness, abuse, neglect, foster care placement, and other crisis situations in Tucson, AZ and surrounding counties including Cochise,
Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz and Yuma. Angel Heart partners with social service agencies, schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to deliver these items in order to promote children’s emotional comfort, well-being, literacy development, and sense of security.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer and is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of the organization. The Executive Director oversees fundraising, community partnerships, program operations, financial stewardship, and staff and volunteer engagement while safeguarding the mission, values, and reputation of Angel Heart Pajama Project.
The Ideal Candidate will possess:
Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of nonprofit leadership or senior management experience,
knowledge of foster care systems or child welfare issues, strong public speaking skills, serve as
agency’s spokesperson, the ability to travel throughout Southern Arizona, including a valid
driver’s license to operate the "Pajama Mobile", and flexibility to work occasional evenings and
weekends in support of events.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative, hands-on leader who is both visionary and
operational. They will demonstrate strong relationship-building skills, nonprofit leadership
experience, and a deep commitment to serving vulnerable children and families.
